Marriage Mischief and the Pink Mafia

As the marriage wars intensify, so too does the heavy-handed assaults by the militant homosexual lobby. They have long specialised in intimidation, deception, harassment and hate campaigns. They have just ratcheted things up a few more notches.

And the duplicity and deception that goes with it is quite incredible. Earlier this week a piece appeared in the Australian claiming that the homosexual activists wanted to see the same-sex debate conducted with civility and decency. Here is how the article began:

“The gay marriage movement has taken the unusual step of making a ‘pledge’ to respect the views of people who oppose same-sex weddings on religious grounds in an attempt to blunt arguments by the Christian lobby and Catholic Church.”

Yeah right! As one who has long been on the receiving end of the homosexual activists, I found this to be rather interesting. Indeed, for over twenty years now I have been subject to their “respect”. I have lost count of all the hate mail and death threats I have received from this friendly bunch. Indeed, for many years I simply trashed all their ugly and downright diabolical attacks on me and my family.

However more recently I have started to save these filthy, vile and obscene attacks. After all, this is the group which speaks the most about tolerance, acceptance and learning to just get along. But I have found that this group is the most intolerant, hate-filled and malicious bunch around.

Thus I now save all their nasty missives, and I may one day publish them all in a book. Perhaps I will entitle it, “More Sweetness and Light From the Tolerance Brigade”. Nothing like letting the other side speak for itself. Simply quoting their own words is a revealing exercise.

Of course I am not alone in receiving all this toxic hate mail. Anyone who dares to stand up to the militant homosexualists will also experience firsthand their wrath and bitterness. They think they have a right to go through life completely dismantling Western civilisation without anyone raising the slightest protest.

Sorry, but there are far too many people who are passionately interested in the institutions of marriage and family to just roll over and play dead. They will stand up and fight for these most valuable of social goods, and they will resist the wrecking ball of the radical social engineers.

But what exposed these remarks of the homosexual lobby for the hollow and deceptive rhetoric they really are was a piece in today’s Weekend Australian. For those of us involved in these battles, the article told us nothing new. But since most people would not be aware of the issues involved, let me draw your attention to this article.

It tells of how the homosexual activists have been intimidating websites which have allowed a contrary point of view to be heard. They have targeted sponsors, resulting in financial loss, and the possible closure of sites. This of course happens all the time by these militants, but let’s look at this particular case in more detail.

Christopher Pearson puts it this way: “Graham Young is the founding editor of a well-regarded e-journal called On Line Opinion, and is a regular contributor to The Australian. I’d describe him as belonging in the centre of the political spectrum, perhaps tending to mild conservatism.

“In December he published a piece arguing the case against gay marriage by the pro-family campaigner, Bill Muehlenberg, and then a series of spirited exchanges on the merits of the argument. It was not the first article he’d run on the subject; that honour had gone to Rodney Croome, a gay activist. Nor were most of the essays run opposed to gay marriage.

“Young commented on the blog in mid-December. ‘The On Line Opinion approach is one that many find difficult to accept, and we are currently under attack from a number of gay activists because we dared to publish [Muehlenberg’s essay] which is mostly a pastiche of comments by gay activists, even though the majority of articles I can find on the site support gay marriage. And by attack I mean attempting to intimidate me, sponsors or advertisers. How ironic . . . when we are sponsoring the Human Rights Awards.’

“When I spoke to him on Wednesday, Young said it wasn’t the first time advertisers had made life hard. A group called Ethical Investments had objected after their ads sometimes appeared on pages alongside articles questioning anthropogenic global warming.

“On account of the Muehlenberg piece, Young told me two major advertisers had just pulled out: the ANZ Bank and IBM. Comparing this year’s January gross ad sales with last year’s, he calculated that revenue from his main category of advertising had fallen by 96 per cent. Young is worried that these bizarre decisions will adversely affect other websites as well as his own and could even lead to some of them closing down.”

There you go: more love, acceptance, tolerance and respect from the homosexualists. Readers can peruse my article for themselves (see link below). As mentioned, it mainly consists of quotes from the homosexual activists. Yet the homosexual lobby considers this to be hate speech!

Just as Islamic activists in the past have convinced judges that to simply quote from the Koran amounts to vilifying Muslims (I refer to the two Dannys case in Victoria), so too homosexual activists are now insisting that we not be allowed to even quote from their own sources!

Of more interest were all the angry and malicious comments attacking me under my article. Of course this happens all the time. Whenever I dare to speak truth about this issue, the activists will attack me. They almost never actually address the arguments or evidence I offer. They simply resort to ad hominem attacks.

This is par for the course: don’t actually try to deal with fact and evidence; just smear your opponent. It is always so much easier than actually arguing a coherent case. And one can imagine that Graham Young had to refuse many of these comments for being far too nasty and obscene. I have to do the same all the time on my website.

But the lies, vilification and ugliness of their responses were just incredible. As just one example, one angry commentator made a bold-faced lie about me and my activity: “The Family Council of Victoria recieves thousands of dollars in donations, Bill Muehlenberg (the spokesman) is only doing what he is paid to do by posting biased quotes from people, with the intention of creating homosexual marriage myths. That is the truth people.”

Sorry, but the truth is this: the Family Council of Victoria receives no donations, and I receive no wages from them. No one does. It is a completely voluntary organisation, which I just happen to belong to. But the activists will simply throw out any lie in the public arena, without fear of consequence.

Just as earlier Marxist morality consisted of anything which furthered the cause of communism, so too it seems the homosexual lobby will try to get away with anything to advance their radical agenda. Indeed, I have debated these folks for years now, and the lies, falsehoods, deception and mud-raking that I am exposed to is quite remarkable.

So this is but the most recent example of how the activists want to show “respect”. In this case they will seek to shut down anyone and anything that dares to differ with them on their attempts to remake society in their own image. It seems that no amount of force and/or dirty tricks is off limits for these thuggish activists.

No wonder so many others who have experienced their heavy-handed threats and attacks refer to them as the gaystapo. This is a very malicious and dangerous outfit which will seek to silence any and all opposition. While they are free to try to do this in a democracy, by their very actions they of course are destroying democracy.

But they don’t seem to care, so hell-bent are they to transform the entire Western world into a gayocracy. If real freedom, democracy and diversity have to be crushed in order to bring in their brave new world, then so be it. But those of us who care about such things will not be so easily intimidated, silenced or shouted down.

We will keep standing up for what is right, even if we all end up in prison for trying. But some things are worth fighting for. Marriage and family, and freedom and democracy, are some such things that we must always stand up for. Who will join me?

  1. ME! I have already joined you. It’s a thankless task (in this world), and frequently unpleasant, but we keep our eyes on the eternal, not the temporal. We are to be light, but only God can remove the blindness that prevents people from seeing the light. When we set forth the truth plainly, we must also pray that God will remove the veil from their eyes.

2 Corinthians 4:1-4, 7-9, 16-18 “Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God… But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed… Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

  2. Bill, I know you cop it from all directions by speaking up and I’m sorry that you and your family have to suffer such vile accusations and threats. Our society is drifting degree by degree towards some kind of Orwellian nightmare where white is called black, black is white, and anyone who states the obvious becomes an enemy of the state. Its shocking to me that so many people are quite unable to disagree by mounting an intelligently formed argument, so all they do is hurl abuse instead.

Yes things are going downhill fast. All the more reason for all of us to get involved and redouble our efforts.

  4. Hi Bill,
The Lord is with u. Do not fear! Isaiah 43:10 “You are my witness, declares the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen, so that u may know and believe me and understand that I am he”. 1 Peter 5: 12-14 “Do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that u participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that u may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. If you r insulted because of the name of Christ u are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on u.” How reassuring.
How wonderful to serve a living God. Bill, we who are truly born again people are at your side. We will keep u and yr family in our prayers for God’s protection and u will not lack of anything. We are safe in God’s protection rather than men. Continue with your gifted work that God has given you. God bless.

  5. Once upon a time there was a society with a father and a mother, who were parents since creation and children knew that they became one.
Also at those times mankind learned the importance of sanity, and hygiene.
So many diseases vanished because of loving, wise and cleansing care.

Then came a time that doors were opened ….and evil was called good and good was called evil.
Out of those doors came an army whose motto was: “My will be done.
I like dirt!! All that clean so called good stuff over the years, we hate it.
We prefer to see diseases come back and spans of life being shortened”.

And so the world sees and is guilty in silence.
That army can boast victory: “we have have killed millions through diseases made by us, who like to stir in filth!
Away with cleanliness, away with only male/female parents. All those thousands of years children have missed out!”

And so they are marching with dirty hands and dirty minds and dirty results.
    And mankind is stunned.
“Let us fight the smokers”, they say.
But wait, smokers don’t cause so many deadly diseases.
“No, we don’t like them them. Let us pay millions to stop the smokers, they are dirty. We homos are clean!”

And so they are still marching and dying younger and younger.
And the world seems to applaud a life style which cannot give life.

(May God have mercy also on those who support that life style. -Romans 1)

  6. Bill, quoting from the first Austalian article on the ‘pledge to respect opponents’

The publication states that “just as we acknowledge that it is possible to oppose marriage equality without hating homosexuals, so we ask those who differ with us on this important issue to acknowledge that it is possible to support marriage equality without seeking to undermine, marriage, family or religion”.

The AME publication already seeks to undermine the argument by obfuscating terms such as “marriage equality” and by asking their opponents (ie. us) to agree to their main plank: that their version of marriage equality does not undermine marriage.

    John Angelico

  7. Thanks John

Yes exactly right. The whole aim of this so-called peace initiative is for the homosexual activists to keep pushing their agenda while those who oppose it effectively sit down and shut up.

    Bill Muehlenberg, CultureWatch

  8. Maybe you wouldn’t receive hate mail if you just left them alone to marry – perhaps then they’d leave you alone. It’s none of your business if homosexual people are a couple/wish to be married. Not everyone is a Christian, so why should such people do what this tradition preaches?

There is plenty of vitriol and hate coming from the “traditional marriage and family” Christian side too.

    Laura Mathison

  9. Thanks Laura

Let me see if I have this straight: according to you, there is nothing wrong with all the hate mail I am getting. Indeed, I deserve it. And if I want to be free of it, all I have to do is just sit down and shut up and accept your social revolution.

I used to think we lived in a democracy where everyone had the right to express their point of view. But according to you and your activist buddies, this is not the case at all. In your version of how things should operate, all people who disagree with your agenda must simply be silenced. End of story.

Thanks for showing the entire world just how tolerant, accepting and open to debate your side is. It is always so very nice when your side makes my case for me, illustrating perfectly everything I have just said. Thanks again.

And of course it most certainly is my business when marriage is destroyed by activist groups. I lay out in detail some of the many ways in which your attack on marriage will impact on me and everyone else: https://billmuehlenberg.com/2010/12/10/same-sex-marriage-who-says-nothing-will-change/

    Bill Muehlenberg, CultureWatch

  10. Bill
You show enormous courage to continue with your work among all the venom. Just a quick glance through those letters printed by homosexuals on those supplied links, it has been confirmed in my mind that their agenda for so called same-sex “marriage” is not simply to have a win on that subject alone and that will be the end of it. I believe that they think that if they have a “win” on “marriage” equality, they then have equality totally. That will open the floodgates to other goals, such as access to education options in schools in favour of their lifestyles. I hope that if govenments make it compulsory for all clergy to perform these “marriage” ceremonies, the clergy will have the courage to be prepared to be jailed.
    Frank Bellet, Petrie Qld

  11. What an incredible statement from Laura Mathison. If we did not have dedicated people who pointed out the errors of the ways of those supporting same-sex “marriage”, advocates of abortion, porn merchants and so forth, our young and inexperienced would be left at the mercy of those who are pushing those agendas. Wouldn’t that be a wonderful world to live in? Despite the fact that many brave Australian servicemen and women died in a number of wars, so that we had free speech, apparently we are still at war with those who attempt to curtain freedom of speech in the community.
    Frank Bellet, Petrie Qld

  12. Thanks Bill.

I greatly appreciate your faithfulness in reporting and standing up on these moral issues.

The blog of yours which I still quote most often to my friends and acquaintances is:
    https://billmuehlenberg.com/2009/01/22/faith-busters/

I love the way “Faith Busters” starts. In the light of the recent defeat of the Victorian Labor government, I was wondering if you would consider updating this. I think it could be timely.

The opposition all of us are facing is real. Yet if James 1 v 2 and Romans 8 v 28 are still true – and I have no doubt these words are true – then we must like Habakkuk 2 v 1, look to see what He will say to us. The Lord is still in control, and his judgements will keep coming.

One thing I am confident of, and that is, of God’s reviving power. I am convinced it will come in one of two forms throughout the Western world. If God’s revival does not bring the political movement to restore and transform our national scenes, then it will be His purpose for us to be part of a great revival coinciding with ongoing persecution until the end. This you have so well described in your Faith Busters article. If we are in the later scenario, then I intend to play my part to the best of my ability. (No matter what the scenario I seek to give my best.) However, if we are in the latter scenario, I believe God would intent for the proclaimation of the gospel to be the greatest of all subversive movements in history. (‘Faith Busters’ of course does not make such eschatological observations. I am not suggesting that it should).

The two scriptures which I quoted above: James 1 v 2 and Romans 8 v 28 have been pivotal in my life. I am reminded of a story Watchman Nee told. It is recorded in a daily devotional called: “Table in the Wilderness.” Friends of Nee recorded the story. Nee speaks of a boat going down a river, but coming up against a massive rocky obstruction so that it could not pass. Nee then simply made the observation. He said: “Christian life is not about removing rocks, but having more water.”

To politics, Bill, I am not called. But I have a heart to support you, and those such as you, who do stand for the truth. However, this battle is about a lot more than politics, it is about standing true to the glorious God, our Saviour and the gospel. See Romans 1 v 24 -28, 32; 1 Corinthians 6 v 9 – 11; 1 Timothy 1 v 8 – 11; and Jude v 7.

It is important we pay attention to the argument used by counterfeit Christians. Counterfeit Christians claim to be prophetic in their action. They aim at a major revision of our traditions. They claim to be concerned about social justice for oppressed groups and in particular those within the gay and lesbian community. Their arguments are often based upon similar claims to those used against slavery.

Their arguments tend to operate along the following lines:
    (i) society has changed;
(ii) a new social evil has been identified not previously recognized in scriptural times,
    and
(iii) therefore we must adjust our understanding.

Recently, I heard someone making the comment: “The devil is joining the church in this hour.” Since the church was born, Revelation chapter 2 and 3 shows this has been a problem. It is encouraging to know, this passage provides it; the Lord is very jealous to bring judgments to protect His church as required.

Antinomianism is one error I have recently seen on the rise; with church people paying lip service to it. The Lord grant those with authentic teaching ministries to increasingly address this and other issues to restore health to His flock world-wide.

I am confident the Lord will continue to bless, and sustain you and your family in the face of – even increasing – opposition (if need be) if that is the way He is leading you. I am also confident that the Lord will continue to give you wisdom to address all the various matters you all face.

Along these lines I often pray for you.

    Gratefully yours
    Christopher McNicol

  13. Hi Bill

Thank you for standing up for our Lord in your ministry. It must get lonely sometimes. I am very sorry to hear that both you and your family have been subjected to threats and hate mail. I pray the Lord will give you the strength to continue to report the truth despite the attacks.

  14. Keep making a stand Bill! When push comes to shove more will speak out. The grey areas are fast disappearing between what is right and what is wrong. Soon it will be pure black or pure white.

  15. Bill:

I’ve only been reading CultureWatch for a couple of weeks, but I had already guessed that the opinions published on this site will arouse the venomous interest of activists for every perverted cause.

I hope you will hold the line for Christian values on this commentary, and not be intimidated by the threats, lies, and malevolence of the “enlightened” mob who want to crush all opposition to the creation of their ultimately barbarous heaven on earth.

  17. Bill, don’t let anyone pull you down and we don’t compromise the Word of God, ‘If you love me, keep my commandments’. John 14:15. Those living in a sinful chosen lifestyle have no love of God in their heart.
Many support, pray and stand with you, Bill.

  18. Hi Bill. From Matt. 5:
10 Blessed are they that have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye when men shall reproach you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets that were before you.

I believe you are a modern day prophet; a watchman on the wall. It’s a bit of a thankless job in some ways but you are greatly beloved of the Lord and He delights in the fact that you are willing to stand up for Him when the going gets rough. We will continue to uphold you in prayer.

  19. Hello Bill,
There are victories in this war against the traditional family and marriage. The link below is from C-Fam The Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute. “The French High Court Affirms Traditional Marriage.”
    http://www.c-fam.org/publications/id.1782/pub_detail.asp
I pray that this will not be the last such victory.
I also pray for protection for you and your family and extended family each day.
Hang in there brother, you are not alone in this battle.
God bless you and your ministry.

  20. Bill,

I think the 2nd smartest tactic was that of Damien when he wrote “I am a customer of ANZ. I think I will be taking my business elsewhere.”

Can we encourage all ANZ customers, Culture Watch readers and other Christians to do the same AND LET THE ANZ KNOW WHY YOU ARE TAKING YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.

I am not a customer of ANZ so I cannot join that boycott.

  21. Excellent article. I am so happy to have found this site, I share many of your articles on my Facebook page. So far no comments, but you never know. You do wonderful work, and I thank you.

The gay rights movement is clearly a PR campaign from hell, and its narrative may as well be scripted by the devil himself. This narrative, portraying homosexuals as a harmless minority bitterly persecuted by the (fill in the blanks, you’ve heard them all) Christians has been staggeringly successful in deluding and deceiving the masses. It is clear that this is an Antichrist movement devised to turn people against Christians, against churches, against the Bible, against anything and anyone that might possibly lead a lost soul to salvation through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

We are truly in the last days and this is certainly one of the biggest battles for souls that is going on today. As Christians we have no choice but to be bold for Christ. It is the souls of men and women that are at stake.

  23. So if one was to rank how easily offended the followers, the list might start something like this…

    1. Islam
    2. Homosexuality
    3. Abortionists
    4. …etc…

As a Christian, this warns me to steer clear of taking offense. No surprise really, it’s written in the Book…

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, IT IS NOT EASILY ANGERED, it keeps no record of wrongs. (1 Cor 13:4,5)

Hopefully, Christians should be near the bottom of the list, while demolishing arguments (not people) and doing so with gentleness and respect. (2 Cor 10:5, 1 Pet 3:15)

This way, God is free to move, and the self-contradictory statements and behaviour of the blind guides becomes increasing obvious.

And this is why non-Christians are incapable of “Tolerance”. You need the Holy Spirit to do it properly.

    Tim Lovett

  24. I am a lesbian and a same sex marriage advocate. All public debate should be civil and use non-violent language. I understand that you have strongly held views that people like me are perverted deviants who are condemned to an eternity writhing in agony in hell fire. Good for you, nothing nasty, intimidating and and violent there…

Unfortunately for Christians, our laws are secular & we both have to argue our positions in the democratic ‘market place’.
I suspect you would much rather we had theocratic government, so good luck in convincing the voters to switch systems. In the meantime both you and I will continue to work hard to make our secular laws reflect our own beliefs and morality. May the best arguement win.

I suspect, however that you are on the losing side. Look at the demographics; within one generation such views as you espouse will be history, alongside witch-burning, banning contraception and the stigmatising of unmarried mothers and their ‘bastard’ children.

    Angela

  25. Thanks Angela

Your comment is interesting for all sorts of reasons. First, it either indicates your side is not very literate, or it is interested in rebelling against everything. I clearly state in my commenting rules that a full name is required.

But because your comment is such a good example of what I have been talking about, I will let it on. It provides yet another great illustration of how your side “argues”. It simply thrives on logical fallacies, including straw men. Would you please like to tell us all where exactly in this article – or even in this website – I have said you “are perverted deviants who are condemned to an eternity writhing in agony in hell fire” or that I “would much rather we had theocratic government”? Please inform us all Angela.

I will let my readers decide what to make of a person who deliberately makes up things which their opponent has never said. They can decide who is really interested in genuine debate here, given the utilisation of such appalling gutter tactics.

And I am so glad you think that we should have civil debate in public and let the best man win. That is exactly what I have been doing here for years, but that is exactly what your homosexual buddies do not want. As I clearly demonstrated here and elsewhere, they are not interested in debate. They are only interested in shutting down debate. They want to close down any public forum that dares to provide an alternative point of view. Thus I am delighted that you want actual debate, and I look forward to hearing all about how you have publicly rebuked your fellow activists for their insistence on censorship and a police state mentality. Please let us all know when you do this, and what their reply is. We would certainly love to hear the outcome of this.

And finally, since you have not yet tired of logical fallacies, you introduce a complete non sequitur. Please inform all of us what exactly witch hunts have to do with being allowed to debate same-sex marriage. It would seem to any impartial person here that the only side engaging in witch hunts is your side. You guys are the ones who want all public opposition silenced.

As to which side will win – I already know. Truth always wins in the end.

  26. Hello Bill,
On Valentine’s Day 14th February, Getup! and same-sex lobby group Australian Marriage Equality are running a TV campaign which “will carry an emotional appeal for viewers to understand the importance of marriage to the gay and lesbian community.” The softening up before the killer punch, indeed.
This was in today’s Sydney The Sun-Herald.
    http://www.smh.com.au/lifestyle/lifematters/ad-puts-a-face-to-gay-marriage-issue-20110205-1ahn4.html
I have been praying for the funds to dry up that are used in all these campaigns as well as salvation for the same-sex community.
    God bless,
    Paul de la Garde, Sydney

  27. Great article Bill if the gay community have nothing to fear why slander.
There are no passages in the Bible that deal directly with same-sex marriage.
    Colin Clifford

  28. Christians have been invited to come to Sydney for a prayer rally to coincide with the mardi gras. However, authorities advised that the security of the Christians would not be able to be guaranteed. Does this not speak for itself as to the “peaceful” intent of those partaking in the mardi gras? My heart aches for those who are involved or rather sucked in and bound by the ideology and lifestyle represented by the mardi gras, for except for the grace of God, that could have been me.
    Ursula Bennett

  29. Thanks Colin

But your second line can be misconstrued, so some clarity is needed. Heterosexual marriage is everywhere affirmed in Scripture, while homosexuality is everywhere condemned. So SSM is simply a no-goer as far as Scripture is concerned.

Yes quite right. All over the Western world the homosexual militants are seeking not only to shut down all debate, but to shut down any group – be it a church, a business, or what have you – which dares to question its radical agenda. And they expect us to just sit back and allow their path of destruction to continue.

  32. Speaking of which, I just came upon this:

Prominent Black Minister Accuses Homosexual Activists of Anti-Christian Bigotry and Hatred Says Chik-Fil-A Attack is Tip of the Iceberg

MEDIA ADVISORY, Feb. 2, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ — Bishop E.W. Jackson Sr., Founder and President of STAND – Staying True to America’s National Destiny is accusing homosexual activists of anti-Christian bigotry and hatred. Recently, homosexuals have attacked Chik-Fil-A for supporting pro-family groups and events. They are calling for boycotts, banning the business from college campuses and labeling the owner and business as anti-gay. Some have ridiculed the business, calling it “Jesus Chicken.”

Says Bishop Jackson, “This is further proof of the insidious and dangerous hatred by homosexual activists of any Christian who dares try to live out their biblical values. The problem in society today is not hatred of homosexuals, but hatred by homosexuals of anyone who refuses to say ‘amen’ to their sexual behavior.”

Jackson alleges that the homosexual community has been trying for years to undermine or destroy the church and believers who dare stand up for their faith. “They want to destroy the very faith which established this nation, its very foundation, because it is an affront to them and they want a sexually amoral society remade in their image.”

The Bishop further claims that support for the traditional family is not an attack on homosexuality. “When we do programs to support the family, we are not thinking about homosexuality, but for homosexuals, any endorsement of the family as God ordained it is an attack on them. It demonstrates their paranoid obsession with getting the society to endorse their lifestyle and silencing those who won’t.”

Bishop Jackson is calling on Christians and fair minded Americans to “Buycott Chik-Fil-A.” “Go out of your way to patronize this fine business. They have a right to support whomever they wish without being persecuted for their Christian faith and values.” Jackson suggests, “The bigotry is so virulent that it may be time to make Christians a protected class. Right now ‘Christo-phobia’ and ‘Biblo-phobia’ are at such a fever pitch among leftists and homosexual activists, and they need to be stopped before they get carried away in their zeal and do bodily harm to someone. Once again we must remind them our Constitution says, ‘freedom of religion’ and not ‘freedom from religion.'”

  33. To quote Dr Jeff Mirus of Catholic Culture: “…universal tolerance means the acceptance (and therefore tacit approval) of all behaviors, irrespective of their impact on the common good and on human flourishing. To put the matter simply, tolerance perceived as a virtue always rewards vice….The invocation of tolerance as a virtue will always undermine prudence, the real and necessary virtue that enables us to match proper solutions to particular problems.”

The crux of the matter is that many contrived “rights” have been concocted as society has sunk into more and more chaos, against true human rights. Since we are all made equal (not identical; not interchangeable) in the image and likeness of God, we all have this human dignity regardless of race, sex, age, ethnic background or colour, and we all should be treated as children of God with the same human rights, without discrimination. This includes those with homosexual/lesbian orientations or inclinations.

However homosexual/lesbian orientation is an objective disorder or compulsion similar to a compulsion to gambling or alcohol, and sexual orientation has no quality comparable to race, sex, ethnic background or colour. Laws that assume such a comparison are essentially unjust. Thus, under the guise of “anti-discrimination” all manner of anti-social and anti-Christian rights have been concocted by those who have no knowledge nor understanding of the natural moral law. It is from such malformed that comes the imposition of “laws” to suit their own misguided fantasies.

We all possess God-given rights to discriminate against immoral, unhealthy, ugly, society-disturbing behaviour. We all possess rights to live in peace and decency, not to have to lock up our children for their protection, and rights to defend the basic elements of our civilization.

  34. This is a test of how prepared the church is to stand up and be counted. If we do nothing about this then the church risks becoming increasingly irrelevant as time goes by. We need to be praying incessantly about this and be prepared to stand up for the truth. The individual churches need to get cracking and get involved or we will miss the boat.

  35. Tried to register support for Chick Fil A but you can only fill in US states and zip codes instead of international.
    Steve Davis

  36. Thank you, Sybil, for drawing our attention to the outcome of that case of the sexually harrassed firemen. It shows homosexuals and their apologists in their true colours, as does the recent business of homosexuals taking over late-night trains in Mexico City. Give them an inch and they will take a mile.
    John Snowden

  37. I’m with you Bill, your light shines in the gathering gloom of the moral wilderness we find ourselves in.
    Rachel Smith

  38. Thanks for the article Bill,

I am almost beginning to wonder if the homosexuals agenda is starting to unravel. It is inevitable, such is the nature of evil. But this might explain the behaviour from them.

The wheels are starting to fall of their movement as it gets increasingly “mainstream” and people can see it more and more for what it really is and all of the its ugly, depraved and diseased reality.

Time will tell I guess, but perhaps the increasing and increasingly desperate and incoherent attacks are actually a sign of a movement in decline rather than ascendancy.

    Jason Rennie

  39. As one of your correspondents mentioned, we must storm the ramparts of Heaven with prayer so that our opponents will finally see the light. In addition, also be aware that Adam Bandt’s motion in the House of Representatives obligates all MHRs to consult with their constituents regarding SSM. How many of you taken the opportunity of visiting your MP?
    Dunstan Hartley

  40. I too stand for truth and the right to free speech. All free thinking people must understand what is happening here or our future is very bleak indeed.
    Peter Coventry

  41. I’m with you Bill. I used to be a Getup member, because I supported their campaigns for increased government funding of health and education, and other social justice issues. When they started their same sex marriage rights campaign, and heard rumours that they were an ALP front, I unsubscribed.
    Ross McPhee

  42. Bill,

We all have different versions of the truth, and we all have the right to free speech.

I come to your blog to engage with you and your commenters, I do my best to keep the language appropriate and respectful.

My issue with Online Opinion was the language in the comments, not your article, I fully support your right to have your opinions, I don’t agree with them. We both know that.

As already shown by your commenters here, people will go to the advertisers when they aren’t happy with something that the advertiser is supporting, that is our right, and that’s what I did. ANZ and IBM have diversity policies, I drew there attention to them advertising on sites counter to their policies. Just as some of your commenters feel that it’s appropriate to withdraw their support of the same organisations.

I’m not the ‘Pink Mafia’ any more than you are the moral guardian of Australia. (And of course, I’m not the only person to have complained about this – so can’t take full responsibility)

    Gregory Storer

  43. Thanks Gregory

Sorry, but we are just not buying it. Indeed, the whole world needs to know about your patent unwillingness to tell the truth here. You of course fail to inform us that you are a homosexual activist; you fail to inform us that you ran as a candidate for the Secular Party of Australia in 2010, and still belong to it; and you fail to inform us that you are the one who launched the complaint against Online Opinion.

The truth is, you and your mates are the ones who are seeking to shut down all public debate, and to shut down the Christian church from speaking out. You are the ones who want to see a homosexual and secularist hegemony over this land, and you are the ones who are working overtime to destroy genuine democracy in Australia.

But thank you for again so nicely demonstrating the very things I wrote about in my article. Your cavalier use of the truth is par for the course from you activists who are on a mission to silence Christianity and all opposition to your lifestyle. As I mentioned, secularist and homosexual morality is on a par with Marxist morality – it involves whatever it takes to promote your activist agenda. So any amount of misinformation, disinformation, and deception will do.

But the entire world is now beginning to see the truth about your grubby little campaign to silence all opposition. The world recoiled from attempts by the Nazis, the Communists, and other totalitarians to purge all dissent and shut down freedom of speech, and it is now recoiling from the censorship and heavy-handedness of your camp.

And by the way, it is interesting to see that other homosexual activists are appalled at your campaign of intimidation and censorship as well.

    Bill Muehlenberg, CultureWatch

  44. Great article Bill,

It’s alarming when the GLBT activist embark on scare tactics, like forcing high ranking organisations to withdraw funding from anyone who disagrees with their dogmatic gayology. They have set the pace to discriminate all views except for their own, even to the extent of threatening and accusing Christians for intolerance. Your article and past articles clearly shows how narrow mindless and self absorbed the GLBT people really are – They cannot see anything beyond their own selfish needs and wants.

Although our God teaches us to love one-another regardless of who we are and what we do. But that’s not the issue. The issue here is that the GLBT activist are proclaiming war against the righteous with the unrighteous… The church desperately needs to step up not only in prayer but also in preaching the message of “TRIUMPH” – Christ Jesus. Lets not be the Church of Laodicea and become complacent, but rather exceed in Triumph by bringing God’s Kingdom back on earth with the message of truth.

I salute you Bill for telling it as it is, for your boldness and for being God’s advocate. May the Lord continue to immerse you and your family with His wisdom and with His protection (Ps. 91). God Bless

  45. I think we seem to forget that being out proud homosexual is actually a psychological condition. We should not be surprised by their comments that are inherently inconsistent, irrational and full of contradiction. Let us not be lured into thinking that we dealing with sane, balanced and mature human beings. They are, for whatever reason, damaged, hypersensitive and disintegrate people, with an inbuilt internalised homophobia. It is because they cannot affirm their own gender in relation to its equal and opposite complementary one, that they are screwed up.

Not for nothing does Peter Tatchell calls his web site “Outage” because it is rage that consumes him – often through being abused as a young person. Though this might not be the case with him.

  46. A few years ago, I wrote a story (Freedom for My People, published in The Welsh Dresser, http://www.twinbooks.co.uk/welshDresser.php) where I tried to show how any group or race or organisation which starts out being put down or proscribed is never satisfied just with recognition or even equality, but ends up having to rule over everyone. The gay people are just the same. Yes, we have to resist their need to dominate, and show it for what it is (sadly, the Christian Church went through this process, as well).
    John Thomas, UK

  47. Hilarious!
Gregory Storer pointed out to ANZ and IBM their ‘diversity policies’ which effectively means they will cop it if they don’t end up thinking exactly like him and his not-so-merry activists.

Doesn’t sound very diverse to me.

    This picture comes to mind:
    http://afrocityblog.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/tolerant-liberals.jpg?w=700&h=560

In some way I hope you keep it up with this thuggery and blatant double standards, Gregory, so that even more people can see for real what ‘gay tolerance’ really looks like.

    Mark Rabich

  48. David, you have raised up some interesting points in regards to homosexuals pride full behaviour and psychological conditions.

Homosexuality has traditionally been considered a mental illness in the US over thirty years ago and sadly, the American Psychiatric Association (APA) removed homosexuality from its records of mental disorders back in 1973 asserting that it “implies no impairment in judgement, stability, reliability, or general social and vocational capabilities.”

However, in 2006 the APA’s decision has been the subject of criticism with some alleging that the 1973 move to remove homosexuality from the list of mental illness was greatly influenced by gay militants and not factual scientific data. see (http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2006/feb/06020902.html).

I agree with you David, that we’re not dealing with people of a sound mind. Although we may need to tread carefully with some people that are suffering from the spirit of confusion. Unfortunately, modern society that supports homosexuality as “normalcy” can result in increasing numbers of young people who seek to identify themselves as GLBT.

  49. Thanks Bill for your article.
One of my friends went along to a gay pride parade in Honolulu dressed as the grim reaper carrying a sign about aids being spread by homosexuality he was threatened & spat on by the homosexual activists – as you say they are not exactly big on free speech.
    Keep up the good work,
    Chris Stokes, Byron Bay

  50. Gregory Storer writes: “We all have different versions of the truth”.

It’s a relativist fallacy to distinguish “my” truth from “your” truth. The truth has an objective existence which is beyond the vanity of human wishes.

It’s true that we often don’t have the whole truth about something, but it doesn’t follow that we never will.

    Alex Anderson

  51. As an emotional teenager I began to agree with many popular ideas, including the promotion of homosexuality as a harmless and desirable alternative to God’s created order.

Years later God opened my eyes and completely changed my view of homosexuality and same-sex ‘marriage’. I now firmly believe that homosexuality IS wrong, unnatural, harmful and degrading, and I grieve for the many who are caught in its clutches and blinded by the lies of the ‘tolerance’ culture.

I agree that it’s becoming increasingly difficult to have civil debates about homosexuality and same-sex ‘marriage’. Most opposition to homosexuality is met with fierce insults, threats, vulgar behaviour and condemnation of God and churches.

While this is disturbing, it should not surprise us, for Romans 1:18-32 warns that those who reject God and embrace homosexuality are opening themselves up to all sorts of evil.

However, it ought to be said that SOME people who are living a homosexual lifestyle or believe that same-sex “marriage” is reasonable, are able to calmly and respectfully discuss our differences of opinion. Their decency in this is to be commended.

May Christians pray for one another, for brave leaders who make a stand for the truth, and for people who are caught in the trap of homosexual ideologies yet are destined to be redeemed and become our brothers and sisters in Christ.

    Ruth Eshuis

  52. Great work Bill! The homosexual lobby has taken lies, untruth, misrepresentation & fairy tales to an extreme level. And as some have hinted above perhaps it is beginning to overplay its hand. Thanks for highlighting the ferocity and depravity of it all. In doing so you certainly play your part in waking us up to the here and now. Separating truth from lie in the culture war and articulating it as clearly as you do is a great asset.
    Jamie Bowman

  53. Hi Bill! One of my contacts, Rose Harrington asked me to pass on her comment: ‘Satan doesn’t attack the desert….he attacks the castle.’…. In other words, he is attacking where the work is being done. Bill is obviously getting very good work done….otherwise Satan wouldn’t be getting so worried and vitriolic !!
    I agree entirely with Rose.
    Graham Lawn

  54. Why do Homosexual couples want to be married?

Marriage is a life long commitment between a MAN and a WOMAN. It is a sexual relationship! Yes sex between a man and a woman – I thought homosexuals had a problem with having sex with someone of the opposite sex. I don’t believe homosexuals really want marriage, as they don’t want a sexual relationship with someone of the opposite sex, they just don’t want men and women to have it. They are free to marry someone of the opposite sex, but they oppose this, and are trying to take the rights away from ordinary people. They are trying to take marriage away from the majority of our society, those of us that are free from gender confusion. Why take something that is beautiful and destroy it, PICK ANOTHER NAME!!!!!!!!! Call it what it is – Homosexual Union, leave Marriage for those who really do want it, and respect it.

    Sue Webb, Sydney

  55. Bill and readers, whether or not we like it there is a GOD. But why not like it? He loves us and doesn’t want anyone to perish. He tells us what things will harm us so that we will avoid them if possible. I ask Him to reveal this truth to those who consider they are in control of their lives but want to control other’s lives.
    Virginia Rowles

  56. The term homosexual marriage is an oxymoron anyway.
    Jane Petridge

  57. Hi Bill,
People are becoming aware about this issue from a few prominent ministries and they are beginning to respond. Glad to see them coming to your aid! The word is spreading!
    Trisha Ellis

  58. I followed a link from an email I recieved from the Canberra Declaration Team. I never realised that the situation was so bad concerning gay marriages! I admit that that would be my fault, as I guess I didnt really want to know. But now that I do, I am horrified! As an 18-year-old Christian, I have always and always will consider marriage to be between a man and a woman, and that is how it should stay. I am (proudly) anti-homosexual. I think it is (in my opinion) disgusting that anyone would think it is okay any other way, or for a sexual relationship to be any other way. Thank you SO much, Bill, for taking a stand against this movement. I, for one, do not want to bring my future children up in a world where the lines are blurred as to what is right or wrong. I prefer mine black and white thanks. Its shameful that in democratic society my grandparents and great-grandparents fought so hard for, this freedom is being taken away from the people who treasure it the most. It greatly saddens me.
    Samantha Dekker

  59. The disrespect some hate-first activists have shown you and your family, shows that you’re doing the right thing. Keep up the good work!

Recently, I was going to open an account with the ANZ. Not now. The bank’s treatment of On Line Opinion deserves scrutiny and I’ve asked them for an explanation.

It’s called On Line Opinion for a reason.

    Ben-Peter Terpstra

  60. Bill, I truly appreciate your ministry, you are doing a great service to the church. We have few watchmen but you seem to have both eyes open to the corrosion of our culture.
I am writing to ANZ, they ask what I want them to do to remedy the situation. Would you take advertising? May I suggest they advertise on your website as atonement for their blunder of disassociating themselves from your article in On Line Opinion?
Don’t hold your breath; we need you fit and well.
    Blessings
    Des Morris

  61. Keep up the good work Bill we are on your side. We are fully aware of all the belligerent lies and deception, sneaky ways of this mob. Their whole focus is to make heterosexuality an exception rather than the norm. Its a conspiracy. And to think decades back we were being asked to be tolerant. Its like the camel and the Arab.
    God Bless
    Pat Brams

  62. Keep strong you and too all who stand against this depravity sick people.
Is a world problem where morality and injustice is becoming more prominent and minority are taking advantage of the relapsing majority.
I’m certainly refuse to allow the gay any ground a part some desert area of the world.
Who had allowed them to rise to became a threat! The old day the community was more firm with good reason, protecting especially children from them. Now they are even allowed to have children!
    Luigi Rosolin

  63. Advocates of same-sex marriage have a very famous “poster-boy” from ancient Roman history – Roman emperor Nero was a bold exponent of alternative sexuality. His personal relationships included two publicly solemnised marriages to men.

Nero is also remembered for his burning passion for urban redevelopment and his uncompromising opposition to a particular variety of religious fundamentalism.

Try Googling “Nero” AND “Married” AND ” Suetonius” AND “Tacitus”!
