Typical of this apostate bigot. A newspaper loses credibility by hiring a man who is proven to have perpetrated an anti-American falsehood because he desperately wanted it to be true, and that Iranian Islamofascist "democracy" better than America's.

You will never find the likes of Mr Lane going into a debate, at least not on any other terms but his own. This kind of individual, though raving on ad nauseum about having debate in society, means only that people like him should impose their beliefs on others.
The scary thing about this kind of initiative is that, although he may be considered an extremist right now, those pushing the vanguard downhill tend to forecast the direction in which our crumbling society is going. And the time for the amoral extremism we see one day to come into effect the next is shrinking.
You and I will continue to resist, but the law of entropy is in full swing here and the moral society of the west which once was, is imploding.
Let us, however, keep up the good fight til our last breath because we answer only for ourselves and for what we did on this planet whether or not the majority will stand with us.

Instead of shooting the messenger – in this case the Pope – why doesn’t Terry Lane mount an argument?
Tell us Terry why it is now okay to clone and kill a human embryo for research? Tell us why Victorian politicians should follow their (ill-informed) Federal counterparts in approving lab work on human embryos that is not even close to producing cures in animal models?
Tell us why MPs should vote yes to harvesting eggs from near full term aborted baby girls to supply the cloners. Ethics based on a religious framework can and should be defended rationally.
While Lane doesn’t have to agree with the Pope’s ethics, he should at least engage issues rather than simplistically advocate the marginalisation of views he doesn’t like on the basis of someone’s religion.
