Hi Bill
It's so sad that people that are quoted as experts to represent the church in front of the media are failing badly, mostly because of lack of knowledge of the Bible and choosing to live in ignorance by the fact that they are supposed to have deep understanding of the faith they represent. Of couse there are similarities in religions for we all try to reach God but in different ways, but the only way for us to win the battle is to have our facts at the finger tips.

I listened to the interview on Friday. I’m appalled by the apathy and indifference of the host and John Carroll the so-called expert.

If John Faine knew as much about law as he does about the Christian faith, the first lawsuit would have been against him.
These interviews are an embarrassment to those that have even the most basic understanding of Christianity. His attitude reeks of contempt and arrogance, and the depth of his understanding of the Christian faith can be measured in microns. This sadly is all too often a reflection of those that are atheists; it takes no effort whatsoever (just like drifting with the current) to be an atheist, and it removes the need for any honesty or integrity. It’s been my belief for some time that atheism is just a cop out. "The fool has said in his heart there is no God." The word 'fool' comes from a Latin word, follis, meaning BELLOWS, or WINDBAG. How appropriate is that?

Dear Bill
Of course there are similarities in other religions. Until we got too conceited to admit it mankind knew we needed saving from ourselves. Too proud to accept what God offered, or ignorant because Christians have often kept the good news under wraps, people have tried to make up solutions apart from Jesus. The sad news is that instead of sharing what we have "Christians" now try to dilute the truth thinking it is more palatable or that they will sound more learned.

Hi Bill
John Faine ought to know as a graduate in law from Melbourne University, that what decides a case ought to be the differences, however slight, not a bunch of similarities. This is true for all disciplines.

If they discovered something of absolute importance then what would they waffle on about on next week's religion report?

But on a serious note, you are far too kind. It is well within the capabilities of any of any human being who has succeeded in some form of tertiary education to be intimately familiar with all of the details of Mark. They certainly should be after writing a book supposedly based on Mark (and John).

I cannot reasonably construe the omission of critical details from the account of Peters' rebuke as an accident. And if deliberate it casts a very bad light on Carroll's motives or on his appreciation/valuation of the text he is analysing.

Par for the course from the Antitheists Bolshevik Collective: the atheist side is represented by two vodiferous exponents of this bankrupt position, while Christianity is represented either by incompetent apologists (who probably don't even know what this means) or by CINOs (Christians in name only).
